INSTALLATION GUIDE

DO leave an expansion gap of 1/4” around the perimeter of the room. Your flooring will expand and contract with temperature changes within the home as well as direct sunlight.

DO install only in a climate controlled interior area. After installation, make sure to keep the room within a temperature range of 55° - 85° degrees Fahrenheit. Excessively higher or lower temperatures may cause this product to expand or contract and lead to visual defects.

DO make sure your subfloor is clean, flat and level. You must fill in low spots (dips in subfloor) and flatten high spots (bumps in subfloor). Any subfloor that is not at and/or level can cause the joints of the planks to break and the floor to separate over time. (NOTE: Your floor must be level within 3/16” over a 10’ radius).

DO work from 3-4 cartons at a time when installing the variable colored flooring. Pull planks from alternating boxes to ensure a more natural appearance in the floor.

DO use chair protectors, mats and rugs to help prevent scratching. This is a high quality vinyl floor that if maintained, will last for years. If not protected properly, as with other floor covering such as hardwood and laminate, it will scratch. Scratches may be caused by pets, furniture, rocks from shoes, and many other abrasive items.

DO use a glue-down method when installing in a three-season room. Homestead flooring can be installed in fully-enclosed three-season rooms, where the expected temperature range is 32°F (0°C) to 100°F (38°C) after installation is complete. If installing in a three-season room, a glue-down method of installation is required, and the subfloor must be concrete. Please read through installation instructions and warranty sheet for more details.

DO NOT install your flooring outdoors or over carpet. Doing so will void the warranty.

DO NOT install your flooring over subfloors with non-embedded electrical radiant heat.

DO NOT install kitchen cabinets on top of flooring. The weight of heavy cabinets and countertops could break the click mechanism over time. Installation under cabinetry voids our warranty.

Completed Radiant Heat System must be operational for a minimum of two weeks.

Radiant heat components must have a minimum of ½” inch separation from the product.

Radiant Heat System should be turned off for 72 hours prior to installation of AquaLogic Flooring and remain off for 72 hours after the Systems installation is complete.

After installation and 72-hour acclimation period, the radiant heat system can be turned on. We suggest to gradually increase the temperature in increments of 5°F to avoid overheating. Maximum operating temperature should never exceed 80° F. 

Once this process is complete the Radiant Heat System can be used at its normal room temperature setting.
