ANY INTerior ROOM INSTALLATION

Laundry Room?

No problem! Our Homestead JetCore flooring is the perfect flooring for your laundry room.

Bathroom?

Of course, all of our Homestead Flooring is  waterproof and perfect for installation in bathrooms.

Commercial Use?

With a 22mil wear layer and our XSR surface, this flooring is fit for both commercial and residential use.

FLOORING INSTALLATION DO'S

DO

DO leave an expansion gap of 1/4” around the perimeter of the room. Your flooring will expand and contract with temperature changes within the home as well as direct sunlight.

DO

DO install only in a climate controlled interior area. After installation, make sure to keep the room within a temperature range of 55° - 85° degrees Fahrenheit. Excessively higher or lower temperatures may cause this product to expand or contract and lead to visual defects.

DO

DO make sure your subfloor is clean, flat and level. You must fill in low spots (dips in subfloor) and flatten high spots (bumps in subfloor). Any subfloor that is not at and/or level can cause the joints of the planks to break and the floor to separate over time. (NOTE: Your floor must be level within 3/16” over a 10’ radius).

DO

DO work from 3-4 cartons at a time when installing the variable colored flooring. Pull planks from alternating boxes to ensure a more natural appearance in the floor.

DO

DO use chair protectors, mats and rugs to help prevent scratching. This is a high quality vinyl floor that if maintained, will last for years. If not protected properly, as with other floor covering such as hardwood and laminate, it will scratch. Scratches may be caused by pets, furniture, rocks from shoes, and many other abrasive items.

DO

DO use a glue-down method when installing in a three-season room. Homestead flooring can be installed in fully-enclosed three-season rooms, where the expected temperature range is 32°F (0°C) to 100°F (38°C) after installation is complete. If installing in a three-season room, a glue-down method of installation is required, and the subfloor must be concrete. Please read through installation instructions and warranty sheet for more details.

FLOORING INSTALLATION DONT'S

DO NOT

DO NOT install your flooring outdoors or over carpet. Doing so will void the warranty.

DO NOT

DO NOT install your flooring over subfloors with non-embedded electrical radiant heat.

DO NOT

DO NOT install kitchen cabinets on top of flooring. The weight of heavy cabinets and countertops could break the click mechanism over time. Installation under cabinetry voids our warranty.

Homestead Flooring can be installed over most existing LEVEL surfaces, read below to find out more.

SUITABLE SUBSTRATES FOR HOMESTEAD FLOORING

WOOD

If you have a wood subfloor, be sure the wood floor is stable, repair any loose or squeaking planks before installing the floor. Subfloor must be level, flat and free of any debris before installation.

CONCRETE

Planks should not be used as a moisture barrier when installing our flooring over concrete subfloors. Concrete subfloors must be fully cured and require a 6mil (0.15mm) poly-film as a moisture barrier between the concrete subfloor and the floor. Subfloor must be level, flat and free of any debris before installation.

TILE

Make sure to fill up grout wider than 1/4” with a leveling compound. If the click overlaps with a grout line it may compromise the integrity of the click system. Subfloor must be level, flat and free of any debris before installation.

Installing in a Water Prone Space...

Read before Bathroom Installations

When  Homestead Flooring is installed in a bathroom, the flooring can be laid under the toilet only if the floor is separated from adjacent rooms with a doorway threshold. Otherwise the flooring should be installed around the toilet leaving a 1/8” inch expansion space. Use a high-quality silicone caulking to fill the expansion space at the tub, shower and all wet areas to prevent surface water seepage under the floor.

Continuing our Homestead Flooring Up the Stairs...

Staircase Installation

Homestead Flooring can be installed when fully adhered over steps using a high quality pressure sensitive luxury vinyl tile adhesive such as Franklin® 780. Follow the instructions on the adhesive for trowel size and drying time. Always use a flush stair nose molding to finish each step at the nose.

RADIANT HEAT SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Please Note*

The subfloor surface temperature must never exceed 80 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the life of the floor. Homestead Flooring should never come in direct contact with the radiant heating system. Use of an in-floor temperature sensor is recommended to avoid overheating.

1.

Completed Radiant Heat System must be operational for a minimum of two weeks.

2.

Radiant heat components must have a minimum of ½” inch separation from the product.

3.

Radiant Heat System should be turned off for 72 hours prior to installation of AquaLogic Flooring and remain off for 72 hours after the Systems installation is complete.

4.

After installation and 72-hour acclimation period, the radiant heat system can be turned on. We suggest to gradually increase the temperature in increments of 5°F to avoid overheating. Maximum operating temperature should never exceed 80° F.

5.

Once this process is complete the Radiant Heat System can be used at its normal room temperature setting.

6.

All other standard installations instructions apply. Printer friendly link for Homestead Flooring installation sheet below.
